Phil the Phoenix is an upcoming film by animator Trent Coffin.
In it, a boy named Phil has Tourette Syndrome. However, he has a very unique form of it: every time he has a tic, he turns into a phoenix and explodes! And from a pile of ashes that always forms, he pops back out into his human form again.
The town hates Phil for this, but his disorder could be the very thing that saves the day after a harrowing event occurs…
It is a story of learning to love and accept yourself the way you are, to not be ashamed of something you cannot help, and ultimately, to forgive those who don’t understand.
